Nous avons pour vous des miels de 6 pays différents. J'epère que vous aimerez et n'hésitez pas à nous faire parvenir vos commentaires. N'hésitez surtout pas à faire une petit achat de miel local lors de vos prochain voyage, il nous fera plaisir de les déguster! ;-)

Today we have honeys from 6 different countries. I hope you appreciate and that you will post a comment. Also, don't hesitate to make a little purchase of locally produced honey on your next travels....it will be our pleasure to savor them! ;-)

 

Estonie/Estonia

 Ce petit miel gracieusité de mon amie Leena avait un goût de mélasse et de trèfle acre. Nous pensions curieusement qu'il gardait sont goût longtemps en bouche. This honey came thanks to my friend Leena. This honey had a taste of molasse and harsh clover. We also thought it had a long taste in mouth, which is suprizing for a honey.

 

 Bosnie/Bosnia

Ce miel de Bosnie, gracieusité de Tatiana était citroné et poussièreux!! Il est très épais comme de la tir d'érable! This honey that my friend Tatiana brought back from Bosnia had a lemony and dusty taste. It was also very consistent, almost like Québec's tir d'érable! Awesome

 Japon/Japan

Merci John de voyager au pays de tes ancêtres!! Ce miel était puissant mais un goût ephemere d'ananas et d'eucalyptus. Thank you John for traveling in the country of your ancestors!! This very powerful honey had a surprising taste that did not last very long. Some pineapples and eucalyptus flavors were discovered in this honey from the rising sun country.

 Pologne/Poland

Merci Anna pour les trois prochains miels. Ceux-ci proviennent d'un bed and breakfast polonais où l'on apprend aux visiteurs l'art de l'apiculture. Ce premier miel d'acacia (Miod Akacjowy) avait des goûts de cuir, carton et de fruits avec un nez très puissant. Thank you Anna for these next 3 honeys. These came from a Polish bed and breakfast that teachers the visitors about the art of honey culture. This acacia honey (Miod Akacjowy) had some flavors of leather, card board and fruity with a powerful perfume.

 Ce 2e miel polonais (Spadz Iglasta) était plus foncé et ceci se reflétait dans son goût. Mélasse, caramel, fumée et même feu de camps étaient ses caractéristiques. This second Polish honey (Spadz Iglasta) was darker which reflected in it's taste. Molasse, caramel, smokey and even camp fire were it's characteristics.

 Ce dernier miel polonais (Miod Lesny) nous à laisser un peu indifférent, car son goût était presque ''normal'' bien qu'un peu citroné. On aurait dit le trèfle retrouvé dans nos régions. This last Polish honey (Miod Lesny) left us with no big impression even if there were hints of lemon. It tasted like a clover honey found in our areas.

 Allemagne/Germany

Merci Andrew (enfin ton épouse) qui nous a rapporter ce petit miel. Bien qu'il est un peu dans un contenant commercial, ce miel était un peu chocolaté, beurre d'érable et presque comme un tronc d'arbre! Thanks Andrew (well your wife) for this little honey. Although the package was very commercial, this honey had still some great flavors. Chocolaty, maple butter and tree trunk! 

 

 Suisse/Switzerland

Un autre miel de l'épouse d'Andrew. La menthe, presque comme celle retrouvé dans le dentifrice...intéressant. Zachary pensait qu'il mangeait un bonbon!! Thanks again to Andrew's wife. This honey left us with a toothpaste taste that resemble the flavor of mint. Zachary thought he was eating a candy!

Allemagne/Germany

Finalement des miels en sachets avec des saveurs nouvelles. Moutarde jaune et fruit de la passion on dominer. Finaly some honey in little single serving packs, left us with some new flavors: yellow mustard and passion fruits.

Merci de nous encourager avec vos miels. Nous avons déjà 2 miels du Québec, dont une saveur inusité de sapin! On a bien hâte.

Thanks again for encouraging us with your honeys. We have on deck a couple of Québec honeys, including one with a taste of fir tree!! We cannot wait.

Les vacances d'été!/Summer holidays

Bonjour tout le monde, merci encore de nous suivre dans cette belle aventure dégustative. Aujourd'hui 9 miels de 5 pays, on commence j'ai hâte de partir à l'aventure, surtout que nous revisitons un de nos miel favoris, du miel d'acacia venant d'Italie!

Hello everyone, thank you again for following our wonderful taste bud trip. Today we have 9 honeys coming from 5 countries. Let's go, I cannot wait, as today we will be tasting one of our favorites, Acacia honey from Italy.

1.  Fleurs de Turquie/Turkish flowers

Intéressant comment un petit pot peut contenir autant de saveurs: Caramel, arachides, cuir et un début de sauce spaghetti!! Un miel qui est aussi très épais. Merci Julie!
Interesting how some honeys have so many flavors. This one has caramel, peanuts, leather and a begining of spaghetti sauce!! A very thick honey too.

2. Merci à notre ami Frédéric qui nous a apporté les 4 miels suivants de son plus récent voyage à Rome, en Italie.  Celui-ci est un miel de fleurs alpines du Piedmont. Thanks to our friend Frédéric who brought back from his most recent trip to Rome, Italy, the next 4 honeys. This one: alpine flowers from Piedmont.

Ce miel très pâle, presque blanc, nous rappelle la lavande, les roses et même un peu le raisin. Le Piedmont, on y produit du bon vin et évidemment du bon miel!
This very light, almost white honey brings us in fields of lavender, roses and even has a bit of grape taste. Needless to say, Piedmont not only produces some great Italian wine, but also great honeys.

3. Tiglio/Tilleul, Italie/Italy

Ce miel très fort, corsé, puissant et presqu'amer, nous laisse des saveurs de tire éponge/tire brûlée. This very strong honey leaves us with an almost bitter taste of burnt sponge taffy.

4. Mille fleurs/ Millefiori, Italie/Italy

Sans aucun doute ce miel nous a tous laissés sur la même longueur d'onde. Jus de fruits, pomme très mûre, raisin vert, très sucré et une touche de vin blanc. No doubt this one made for a unanimous verdict about its flavors. Fruit juice, ripe apple, green grapes, really sweet and a final touch of white wine.

5. Acacia, Italie/Italy

Celui-ci était attendu depuis notre premier voyage en Italie en 2011 où nous sommes tombés pour le miel d'Acacia. Ce miel-ci était léger et peu parfumé. Mais son goût sucré rappelait celui d'une bonne tarte aux pommes! We fell in love with Acacia honey back on our first trip to Italy in 2011. This particular one was very light and had a delicate nose. Its strong sweet taste reminded us of home-baked apple pie.

6. Bleuet de la Colombie-Britannique/ Blueberry from BC, Canada

Bien qu'il soit surprenamment peu parfumé, ce miel présente un goût délicieux d'anis et de bonbon à l'érable. Une finale de cire était aussi présente. Although we expected this honey to have a strong smell, it did not, but nor did it disappoint us with its wonderful anise and maple candy taste. There was also a little aftertaste of wax in this one.

7. Chardon/Thistle, Colombie-Britannique/ BC

Ce miel foncé nous a tous surpris. Son goût chocolaté a frappé en plein dans le mille pour les gars de cette famille!! Un goût de mélasse à aussi fait son apparition. This dark honey really surprised all of us. The great chocolate taste really hit the spot for all the men in this family!! The taste of molasses also showed up in this tasting. Thanks Lorraine, we love this honey.

8. Trèfle/Clover, Temiscamingue, Canada

Le miel de trèfle est assez populaire au Québec alors je ne m'attendais pas à être surpris. Eh bien wow! Un miel doux qui nous rappelle le goût du lait au miel que nous avons tous pris lors d'une excursion en forêt, c'est très réconfortant! Nous y avons même décelé un peu de chocolat!!
Clover honey is very popular in Québec, so I wasn't expecting anything new. Well, let me tell you, wow! This delicate honey reminded us of a cup of hot milk with honey that we had in the woods one winter many years ago, that was comforting. We even found some hints of chocolat in this one. Thanks Sonia.

9. Pissenlit/Dandelion, Nouvelle-Zélande/New Zeland

Quand on pense pissenlit, on ne pense pas que cela pourrait donner grand chose d'intéressant. Cette fleur qui est vue comme une mauvaise herbe en Amérique est en fait très nutritive. Son miel qui a une odeur de citron, nous donne un bon goût d'anis et de réglisse.
When you think of dandelion, you do not think this plant has much to offer. It is seen as a weed in North America, but it is actually very nutritious. This honey had a nice lemony nose with a terrific anise and licorish taste.



Et bien voilà un autre voyage autour du monde sur le dos de nos papilles!! Il nous fait toujours plaisir de recevoir les miels que vous voulez bien nous rapporter de vos voyages. Merci à ceux et celles qui l'ont fait pour ce tour-ci.

Bonjour à tous, merci de suivre nos dégustations familiale de miel. Je veux débuter par exprimer comment extraordinaire je trouve cette aventure. Je vous demande à plusieurs personnes de chercher du miel produit localement lors de vos voyage Votre réponse est qu'il vous fait plaisir de m'offir ce petit cadeau sucré. Mais ce que je remarque surtout est le plaisir que vous prenez à dénicher ce petit trésor. J'écoute des histoires de comment vous avez trouvez votre miel et comment amusant cette expérience-là a été pour vous. Je suis ravis de voir que notre demande ce transforme en plaisir  pour vous aussi. Merci, merci et merci, ça fait chaud au coeur d'entendre vos histoires. Notre ami Ryerson était avec nous pour cette dégustation.

Ce petit trésor était une première pour nous, avec la cire d'abeille! Apparement il faut simplement se couper une tranche et écrasé entre sa langue et son palet la tranche et laisser le miel couler. Très délicieux. Ce miel était doux et même jusqu'a dire carrément sucré. Il avait un goût de fleurs. Il était délicieusement doux et léger, selon Ryerson. Évidement il laissait un arrière-goût de...cire!!

Well this was a first, the honey and the honeycomb. Apparently you just suck on the comb and let the sweet taste of the honey fill your mouth. This sweet and sugary honey had some flavors of flowers. It was mild and pleasantly sweet says Ryerson. Of course it had an after taste of... wax!!

L'histoire de ce miel est amusant. Mon ami Mondel a demané as sa mère de me rapporter du miel lorsqu'elle est retourné dans son pays natal, la Grenade. Quel délice. Ce miel était comme un panier de fruits de bleuets et de cerises et il était un doux délice pour le palais. Nous avons aussi eu droit à un goût de bière et de pomme cuite selon mon palais! Nous l'avons tous bien apprécié.

The story of this one is funny, my friend Mondel asked his mom to bring back the famed Grenada honey on her most recent trip back home. What a treat. This one was all about the fruits. Blueberry, cherry and a beautiful sweetness. There were some beer and cooked apple flavor I thought. In all very appreciated.

Camp-Mel Brésil/Brazil

J'aime beaucoup lorsque les miels on un goût fort. Ce miel nous a bien surpris et nous en avons eu pour notre rhume. Bien que le miel soit d'une couleur légère (habituellement un miel fort est plus foncé), ce miel avec un goût bien dévelopé de réglisse. Il y avait aussi des saveux de raisin.

I just love when honey have strong taste. We were very well served with this suprizing honey. Although it was a light honey, it punched a taste of licorish. It also had some grape flavors.

Ce miel d'ici est un autre exemple que le miel de sarazin est en train de devenir mon favoris. Ce miel a une combinaison de mélasse et de sirop d'érable qui est très apprécié de mes papilles! Il termine avec une touche de chocolat caramélisé et fumé! Quoi d'autre que simplement spectaculaire.

Well this locally produced honey is another example how the buckweat honey is becoming my favorite. It has the molasse and maple syrup combo that is appreciated. Then it finishes with a touch of musky/smokey chocolat; what more can I say but wow!

Une autre belle rencontre de voisin et de miel du monde. Notre très sympathique voisin David nous est revenu avec un grand miel de Chine. Quelle autre raison avons nous besoin pour déguster en famille. Pour l'occasion nous étions 11 personnes de 4 à 46 ans!! Les commentaires sont donc un recueil des participants

On this Good Friday, April 2nd, 2015 our family greated my super neighbor who recently brought back some Chinese honey. Do we need another reason to taste honey...I think not!! Il goute le jus de raisin, le vin, petit goût amer et sure, les fleurs, un goût léger de fleur de printemps et pour finir le plastique!!

This honey had some grape juice, wine, flower taste. It also brought sour and bitter taste, even if those were light. It tasted like delicate spring flowers, but finishes with a plastic taste.

This Aussie honey is a very popular savor in the land down under. This dark yellow honey has savors of wood and sumptuous caramel.

Ouff!! Quel goût fort et texture épaise, on dirait l'équivalent en miel de ce que la Guiness est pour la bière. Un goût très fort de mélasse,  café, d'écroce et amer.

 Wohoh! What an incredible strong and thick honey. It's probably the equivalent of what the Guiness is to beer. A strong taste of molasse, coffee, bark and bitter.

Ce miel local débute avec un goût de cire, de fleur, sirop d'érable et termine avec un air de cannelle. Bien qu'il ait un goût traditionnel, il est bien apprécié du groupe.

This local honey starts with a taste of wax, flower and maple syrup and ends with a wiff of cinnamon. Although this local honey has a traditional taste, it is nevertheless very appreciated by the group.

Ce miel fait un retour pour une autre dégustation, mais ne change pas trop. Il n'a pas perdu son goût de latex, mais démontre tout de même un peu de pomme.

This honey is back for another kick at the can. But he has not lost his latex taste, but has shown some hint of apple today.

Un beau miel Italien qui nous présente des touche de fumé, de saucisse fumée, très peu sucré. Certain y goute un chocolat et vanille et d'autre un citron. Pour moi il goutait 1970!!?

A nice Italian honey that gives us some smokey taste, such as smoked sausages with very little sweet taste. Some of us saw a chocolat and vanilla taste, while others discovered some lemony taste. For me it tasted like 1970!!?

Very well rounded caramel taste, a mix between chocolat and molasse, cantaloupe, honeydew and dark chocolat.

Surprise of rubbing alcohol, sweet alcohol, and finish with anise and caramel.

Un peu de syrop pour la toux quelqu'un? Ou un petit Rhum et de canne à sucre? Mélasse et framboise aussi.

A bit of cough syrup anyone? Or a bit of Rhum and sugar canne for that cough? Molasse and strawberry too.
